Last month, October 2015, a female middle-distance runner signed for New Balance team. She is Esther Guerrero Puigdevall. Esther was born in Banyoles on 7 February 1990. She started competitions in Juvenil category 12 years ago and now she is a very good runner.
Last summer, she competed in the Women's 800 meters event in the World Championships (in Athletics) in Beijing, China. It was difficult for her to be accepted in this competition, but finally she was accepted thanks to her effort. After that, Esther won Club Natació Banyoles award for the "best sport woman 2014", where she is an athletics coach.
Last week, Esther Guerrero signed for New Balance team and she left FC Barcelona, her club since 2008. She signed that because this club offered her new projects, news aims and because she wanted to achieve new goals.
Her goals in this new team are qualitying for the European championships and take part in the Olympic Games, next summer in Brazil 2016.
Esther Guerrero remarks "the new team has a motivating and innovating project which meets my goals".
